Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist and currently competes with the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of her fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko, an experienced Muay Thai kickboxer, began her career in fight sport at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko took the title in a unified victory against Suzane Miller. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008, a gold medal in 2011, and was the 2015 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in at the age of 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships in 2012 as well as The Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016 and both the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight took place at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was a unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut came in 2002, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She was victorious with a TKO at the end of round 2. Her two subsequent matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her comeback against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui in a unanimous decision. She was then able to defeat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by an unanimous vote. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's superior strike skills allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi on an undisputed split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the fight of the night bonus during the bout. Shevchenko was 1-2 over her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
